Who
we are: The Strega Nona Society is a private group of concerned
Pagans dedicated to encouraging the active participation of Pagan kids
and families in spiritual life. We are a sponsored project of the
Church
of the Sacred Earth: A Union of Pagan Congregations, and membership
in Strega Nona is open to all interested members of the church and to their
invited friends as well. There is a small fee for membership.
Strega Nona maintains a small listserve for brainstorming and planning purposes. We engage year-round in fundraising for the Strega Nona Fund to pay expenses and scholarships for kids and teens participating in sponsored Pagan events; currently, the Panthea Institute. And we meet for an annual networking and fundraising extravaganza, generally a primitive camping event with all proceeds to benefit the Strega Nona Fund.

This also means that the long-postponed Strega Nona Family Retreat has become a jointly sponsored activity of the Society and the Church of the Sacred Earth. We look forward to working together to nourish a vibrant Pagan community life! Watch this space for details: our first retreat is tentatively planned for May, 2004.
Strega Nona supports children's scholarships. As of October 3, 2003, the Strega Nona Society has raised almost $700 on behalf of children's participation in Pagan religious life; $100 of that total has so far been spent on behalf of Pagan children attending the private religious educational programs at the Panthea Institute.
We hope to provide more substantial programming and scholarship assistance next year.
